What email59 knows about you, and for how long
Written to be read. email59 is run by Biz59 LLC, New York, NY. We don't sell personal data, we don't show ads on this site, and we don't use your email to train anything.
Gmail cleanup
You connect your own Gmail mailbox and decide what is moved to Trash.
| Read and kept for the review | Never read |
|---|---|
| Date, sender and subject of each email | The body of any email |
| Read or unread, starred, marked important | Attachments (only whether there is one) |
| Your labels and Gmail's section (Promotions, Social, Updates, Spam) | Your contacts, calendar or anything outside mail |
| Size | Your Google password |
- The review is kept so the page can count and group your mail. You can delete it with one button at any time. If you don't, it is deleted 7 days after the review.
- The app password (or Google sign-in, where offered) is stored encrypted and only while the mailbox is connected. Disconnect deletes it together with the review. You can also cancel the app password on Google's side at any time.
- What we do in your mailbox: move the emails you picked to Gmail's Trash. Nothing else is changed, nothing is sent, and Trash is never emptied by us. With the hourly clean-up switched on, new mail in the sections you ticked is moved to Trash the same way.
- Nobody at email59 reads through reviews. We look at one only to fix a problem you reported, or at counts to check the tool works.
Your account
- Your email address, the name you send under, your API keys (stored as hashes), your orders and subscriptions, and how many emails you sent each day.
- Sign-in on the website is handled by osec.one, a sign-in service also run by Biz59 LLC. It receives your email address and sends you the code, or checks your Google or Apple sign-in if you choose one.
- When you agree to the terms before a payment we record the text you agreed to, the time, your IP address and browser.
- Payments go through Stripe. We never see or store your card.
Email you send through email59
- For each email we keep the recipient's address, the subject, the time and the provider's reference, so you can see what went out and so abuse can be traced. We do not keep the body after it is handed to the sending provider.
- The email is delivered by a sending provider we use as a processor; it handles the content only to deliver it.
- Unsubscribe requests and blocked addresses are kept for as long as the account exists, so the same person isn't mailed again.
- Emails sent with a test key are stored so you can read them, and deleted after 7 days.
- Sign-in codes made with the Verify API are stored only as a hash and deleted after 30 days.
Mailboxes at email59.com
- Mail sent to an address you opened, and what you send from it, is stored whole (text, attachments, images) so you can read it. That is the service.
- Trash and Spam are emptied after 30 days. Anything you delete from Trash is gone.
- Mail to an email59.com address nobody has opened is kept without being shown to any customer.
The small tools
- Email check and list check: the addresses you type or upload are used for the lookups and not stored. We keep only a count per day for the limits (by account, or by IP address when there is no account).
- Link scanner test: the requests to your test link (time, network, browser line) are kept for 7 days, then deleted.
- Tools that say they run in your browser send nothing to us.
Visits to this site
Each page (except the account page) loads one small counting tag from b59.link, our own link and page-view service. It records the page address, the page you came from, the time, and what any web server sees of a request (IP address and browser line). No advertising cookies, no third-party analytics. The sign-in keeps a session cookie so you stay signed in.
Seeing or deleting your data
- Gmail cleanup: "Delete the review from email59" and "Disconnect this mailbox" on the cleanup page.
- API keys, mailboxes and subscriptions: on your account page.
- Everything else, including closing the account and deleting what belongs to it: write to harish@biz59.net from the account's address. We answer within 30 days, usually much sooner. Payment records are kept as long as tax law requires.
Where it is kept
